Komax is the market leader in automated wire processing and manufactures series machines and customized systems for all levels of automation and customization. Its products range from simple semi-automatic machines to complex fully automatic machines. Quality assurance modules, test equipment and intelligent networking solutions round out the portfolio.
The TopTouch software, operating and control software of the semi-automatic BenchTop Crimper, is completely revised. It will be extended with various functions and the MIKO networking interface will be integrated. In the second step the hardware will be replaced.
To ensure the software quality, automatic tests (unit tests) are created. A Windows simulation enables efficient development and testing. When porting the software to the new hardware, the driver layer is replaced in the first step. Afterwards, business logic and user interface are integrated.
Thanks to the MIKO networking interface, the functionality of the semi-automatic machines has been greatly increased. Thus, the production process can be optimized with the help of quality tools and traceability can be ensured. Porting the software to the new hardware has confirmed the software architecture. The consistent division into software layers with defined interfaces enabled the integration of business logic and user interface with little effort.
